Sloper Development1: $450.00
The sloper or (block) is the basis for flat pattern making and custom garment making . The block aids in exploring your body type or professional dress form (Design Students or Designers) making adjustments thereby creating clothes that fit .Taking a series of personal measurements combined with professional fit techniques is the gate way to achieving successful results in garment construction and flat patternmaking.

Garment Construction I: $450.00
Dressmaking-The art of dressmaking comprises many different aspects. It is necessary as a skilled professional to engage in various methods in order to render great results.
Garment Construction II:
Pant making - Based on your muslin mock-up (Sloper Developement) students will have the opportunity to focus on developing a custom fit. Other skills taught in this class include fly front zippers, pockets, and waistband techniques, finishes and more.
The suit jacket- Students will learn the skills to properly set-in sleeves, notch-collars, bound button holes and line their jackets. Based on a muslin bodice block , they will begin to construct their projects using more modern methods. The skills of custom suit-making are becoming a lost art, but in this class, students will learn how to professionally create their perfect suit jacket or coat.
With more modern techniques taught in Tailoring I, students will have the opportunity to learn the traditional techniques of tailoring. In this class hand drawn buttonholes, pad stitching, couture hand sewing and the use of basting techniques used in couture garment making, and welt pockets will also be the focus. Going back to the days when the inner structure of a jacket/coat & pants were just as important as the outer.
In the previous classes, students have learned how to construct garments from pre-existing patterns. Here they will learn to pattern making for fashion design. With a focus on bodice and sleeve and skirt sloper , students will have the ability to adjust, design, and create patterns or personal and professional use. In this class students will learn the basics of flat pattern drafting.
Advanced techniques will be discussed and executed. Students will use personalized slopers developed previously to gain further skills and training. Draping will be discussed and incorporated.
Draping: Couture (The Gown):
In the world of fashion, evening wear is among the most glamorous of clothing, as well as the bridal industry. In our Couture class, students will learn how to make a gown that is ready to walk the runway at Fashion Week. These gowns can range in difficulty from a simple sheath dress to a bridal gown. Students will learn what it takes to interline, bone, and touch on basic corsetry/creating an interior bustier. With evening wear, the options of fabric and detail are endless. From lace to beadwork, the gowns made in this class will be something everyone will want to show off.
With a combination of skills learned in previous classes , time to pull it all together create a 8 piece collection to promote you as a designer professional seamstress , dressmaker or profolio review. Come with your mood board in hand, Let's begin to create!
Fashion Show Production:
Students will be required to take on different roles in this class in order to show collections . From sourcing models to finishing collections and finding location are some roles to be fulfilled .
